EARLY LIFE
Elizabeth Olsen was born to Jarnette Olsen, a former ballet dancer, and David Olsen, a real estate developer and mortgage banker, on the 16th February, 1996 in Sherman Oaks, California. She is the younger sister of television and movie stars, and fashion designers Mary-Kate Olsen and Ashley Olsen, and has an older brother named Trent Olsen. She also has two younger half-brothers. Her parents were divorced when she was seven years old.
Olsen started with singing and ballet classes when she was a child, and first appeared in her sisters' films such as How The West Was Fun in 1994 at the age of five. While appearing in her sisters' movies, Olsen also auditioned for other roles. Meanwhile, she attended Campbell Hall School in North Hollywood from her kindergarten until her twelfth grade. She attended New York University's Tisch School of Arts after her graduation, and spent a semester in 2009 in Moscow where she studied at the Eugene O'Neill Theater Center under the Moscow Art Theatre School program. While at the NYU, she also studied at the Atlantic Theater Company Acting School in New York City.

ACTING CAREER
Elizabeth Olsen started her acting career at the age of four along with her elder sisters Mary-Kate and Ashley, and has appeared in six of their productions between 1993 and 1996. While still a child artist, she auditioned for Spy Kids, however, she did not make the cut.

For the portrayal of Martha, she received critical acclaim, and a number of nominations and awards. She then appeared in horror movie Silent House, the remake of an Uruguayan movie, in 2011.
