One of the most bankable names in the Indian entertainment industry, Aditya Chopra, the son of the legendary Yash Chopra is an Indian director, producer, screenwriter, distributor and the creative head of Yash Raj Films. He gave the world Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge, which is the longest running movie in the history of Indian cinema. EARLY LIFE
Born to the illustrious filmmaker Yash Chopra, and Pamela, Aditya was since childhood a movie buff who also liked reading books and dancing. He was schooled at Bombay Scottish School and completed his graduation from Hassaram Rijhumal College of Commerce and Economics, Mumbai, where he was batch-mates and best friends with Karan Johar, Abhishek Kapoor, and Anil Thadani.
Aditya Chopra has a younger brother Uday Chopra, who is also an actor in the Hindi film industry, known for films like Mohabbatein, Neal N Nikki, Dhoom, and Mere Yaar Ki Shaadi Hai. Through his father, Aditya Chopra is related to Karan Johar, Ravi Chopra, and Vidhu Vinod Chopra, who are all his first cousins, born to Yash Chopra's sister Hiroo Johar, and brothers B.R. Chopra, and D.N. Chopra, respectively. The yesteryear's actress Simi Garewal is his maternal aunt.
PERSONAL LIFE
Fondly called Adi by all his relatives and fraternity friends, Aditya Chopra, considered as an introvert, has always maintained his distance from the paparazzi and believes in keeping his personal life away from the prying eyes of the media. In 2001, he tied the knot with his high school sweetheart Payal Khanna, but the couple got a divorce in 2009 after the rumors of Aditya Chopra's affair with Rani Mukerji started surfacing. In 2014, he married his rumored girlfriend of many years, Rani Mukerji in a private ceremony in Italy. Their first child Adira Chopra was born in December 2015.
