This 1987 Iranian film is about a 8-year-old boy, who must return his friend`s notebook that he accidentally brought home. The film is directed and written by Iranian director Abbas Kiarostami. This is Kiarostami`s first film from his `Koker` trilogy. The title of the film was derived from a poem by Sohrab Sepehri.
While doing his homework, Ahmed, a school kid realizes that he accidentally brought home his classmate`s notebook. He now gets worried for his friend, as he thinks that his friend may be expelled if he does not complete his homework. He sets out on a quest to find his friend.
The film talks about the sense of civil duty, loyalty and everyday heroics. The film also features traditional beliefs of Iranian rural people. The film ranks among the top ten in the BFI list!
Abbas Kiarostami, is the best Iranian international director who`s become a staple of film festivals and is loved by film fans across the world.
