SynopsisUnder the theme of (5% within Frequency Range), the Sharjah City for Humanitarian Services (SCHS) is preparing to organize its annual conference on 17 and 18 April 2017 in conjunction with the 43rd Week of the Deaf celebrated by the entities working with deaf people in the Arab world.
The notion behind the theme is based on the scientific fact that over 5% of the worlds population 360 million people has full or partial hearing loss (32 million children). We hope for all of them to be within the hearing frequencies from 20 Hz up to 20,000 Hz.
1. Highlighting the concept of deaf culture in the Arab world and concentrating on the Bilingual.
2) Providing initiatives, solutions, and recommendations for a set of challenges that face the Deaf, and people with hearing impairments in five themes: Education, Health, Culture, Work and Family.
3) Examining major experiences and new innovations in the area of audio and assistive technology for the deaf.
4) Highlighting the journey of SCHS through Al Amal School and Kindergarten for the Deaf and Education of deaf people.
