From oil to real estate, electronics, and technology, UAE is at the forefront of these industries. Now, it is making inroads into something the world needs badly, 'sustainability'. It was recently announced that the world's greenest eco resort will soon come up in the Liwa in UAE by 2020! Isn't that impressive?
Dubai-headquartered Eco Resort Group has commissioned London-based architecture firm Baharash Architecture to ideate and design a concept which will be an intersection of cutting edge technology with the tradition and culture of UAE.
Baharash Architecture has indeed come up with something innovative. The Oasis Eco Resort will be centered around a spring! It can't get more traditional than this, can it?
Baharash Bagherian, Designer, and Founder of Baharash Architecture stated that “At the very early stages of the project, we found out that we could extract groundwater using a deep well. This gave us an opportunity to create a story around a spring, which was of critical importance to Bedouins for trade and transportation routes”.
The Oasis Eco Resort will be powered by solar panels which will span over a staggering 157,000 square feet and house 84 interconnecting suites of various sizes with outdoor terraces and some amazing views. You will also find at the resort, provisions for recycling waste water on site, on-site waste management, and enforcement of a zero-emission zone.

From paying homage to the Arabic culture to being in tune with cutting edge technology, the Oasis Eco Resort seems to have covered all bases. It will be a landmark resort which not only will attract many tourists but help reduce the carbon footprint. A huge cheer for the firm to have come up with such an innovative and vital idea!
