Aamir Khan, Ryan Gosling, Will Smith, Kate Winslet, Ranveer Singh movies to hit the big screens in December 2016

2016 is about to end and this year we have witnessed some great movies at the box-office, but we believe the best is yet to come. From prequels to sequels, 2016 had a lot to offer, and with just a month away from the New Year, we bring to you some of the most exciting films that are slated to release this month. Be it a biopic, a thriller, a musical or an edge-of-the-seat action flick, be prepared as December promises to offer something for everyone.

We handpick some of the movies that you should watch this December – 

Dangal –

After the release of PK in 2014, 'Mr. Perfectionist', Aamir Khan, who is known to release his films during Christmas, returns to the big screen with Nitesh Tiwari's directorial 'Dangal'. The film is a biopic based on the life of Mahavir Singh Phogat, an ex-wrestler who trains his daughters to become world-class wrestlers and compete at the international level. The trailer has already created much hype, let's hope the movie matches upto the audiences expectations.

Rogue One : A Star Wars Story – 

For all the Star Wars fans, get ready for another epic saga. The film tells the story of a rogue band of resistance fighters, who unite for a daring mission to steal the Death Star plans and bring new hope to the galaxy.

Starring – Felicity Jones, Diego Luna, Donnie Yen, Mads Mikkelsen and Forest Whitaker.

Release date – 15th December, 2016.

Kahaani 2 – 

The sequel to the 2012 hit film 'Kahaani', this edge-of-the-seat suspense drama follows the life of Vidya Sinha, who fights against time to save her daughter and Inspector Inderjeet, who tries to solve the case of Vidya's mysterious past. 

Director – Sujoy Ghosh

Starring – Vidya Balan, Arjun Rampal and Jugal Hansraj

Release date – 1st December, 2016.

La La Land – 

This year's most dazzling musical, 'La La Land' revolves around the life of Mia, an aspiring actress, and Sebastian, a dedicated jazz musician, who are struggling to make ends meet in a city known for crushing hopes and breaking hearts. Set in modern day Los Angeles, this original musical about everyday life explores the joy and pain of pursuing your dreams.

Starring – Ryan Gosling, Emma Stone and J.K. Simmons

Release date – 22nd December, 2016.

Befikre – 

An Aditya Chopra directorial. The name is enough! 'Befikre' is a free-spirited, contemporary love story of Dharam and Shyra, who find love in an impulsive, engaging series of experiences. Doused in the spirit of Paris, it celebrates love – sensual, carefree and focused on living life to the fullest.

Starring – Ranveer Singh, Vaani Kapoor 

Release date – 8th December, 2016

Collateral Beauty – 

Experience depression, tragedy, romantic tendencies and hope. This film revolves around the life of  a successful New York advertising executive, who experiences a deep personal tragedy and retreats from life entirely. His colleagues devise a drastic plan to force him to confront his grief in a surprising and profoundly human way.

Director – David Frankel

Starring – Will Smith, Edward Norton, Keira Knightley, Naomie Harris, Kate Winslet and Helen Mirren.
